In India, a terrible new wave of the COVID-19 pandemic is infecting over 300,000 people and killing more than 3,500 every day. To help Caritas India cope with this emergency, Development and Peace has committed an initial sum of $50,000. Given that much of the Indian subcontinent is vulnerable to this crisis, much more help will be needed.
Caritas India’s executive director, Fr. Paul Moonjely, has appealed to “the community of [the] faithful, institutions and people of goodwill to contribute generously.” Let’s respond with open hearts!

On Wednesday, May 19 from 7:00pm – 8:00pm we are hosting the last in our 2020-21 series of Catechist Webinars. We are very blessed to be joined by our own bishop, Archbishop Brian Dunn! Archbishop Dunn has a great interest in catechesis, and has made it one of his top priorities for the diocese as we continue to move forward and form youth and adults in the faith. For this webinar, he will break open some of his key thoughts on catechesis and we’ll also have a time of Q&A and dialogue with him. For all involved in religious ed, sacramental prep, youth ministry, RCIA, and formation for adults this is a can’t miss session!

On March 19, 2021 the Church celebrated five years since the release of Pope Francis’ apostolic exhortation Amoris Laetitia on the beau and joy of live in the family. To mark this occasion the Pope launched the Year “Amoris Laetitia Family” which concludes on June 26, 2022, at the 10th World Meeting of Family in Rome with the Holy Father.

A Note of Thanks
It is with sincere gratitude, that I offer thanks to all who took time to express kind greetings on the occasion of my 55th Anniversary of Ordination to the Priesthood. Each and every message that I received by way of email, postal mail, ecards, greeting cards and phone calls meant more to me than I could adequately express.
I would like to offer a very "special" thank you to those who delivered to my home, thoughtful, personal greetings, delicious food, along with monetary gifts. Your generosity has touched me deeply. It is most humbling to realize that I am so fortunate to have such true and loyal friends.

Come Sing Safely With AVHC
“We Will Sing” has been the motto for the Annapolis Valley Honour Choir all year. Persevering all through the pandemic, we have continued to offer meaningful artistic programming for their students. Now planning for a full return to in-person singing in the fall, the AVHC is excited to welcome singers for the next season!
The Annapolis Valley Honour Choir is planning for a return to safe in-person singing in the fall, and is excited to welcome singers for next year! Registration is now open for students in Grades 3-12 in September. Musical Meet & Greets for all three choirs will be taking place the first two weeks of June.
Nationally recognized and known for its excellence in education and capacity for community building, AVHC is an accessible, inclusive program that offers a complete and well-rounded music training through choral singing, musicianship skills, leadership and more. Rooted in teamwork, community and common vision, it is a positive, safe and supportive atmosphere for all young people to build their confidence and discover their true voice. We hope this series helped you to feel more connected to those who have volunteered to help take our Parish forward into the future.
Over the next several weeks, we'll be introducing your Community Liaisons.
Your Community Liaisons are the critical link between Parish administration, ministries and councils and the local church communities. They liaise between your Pastor, the Parish Pastoral Council, the Finance Council and the Community Life Team at your church to make sure we are all kept informed of what is happening at Corpus Christi. News flows both ways so that we can keep you informed of events in your community through the bulletin, too. So let's get to know these dedicated volunteers!!

In January Archbishop Dunn shared with the faithful four pastoral priorities that he asks us all to focus on this year. The four priorities are Evangelization, Homelessness, Parish Identity, and Catechetics. From many these are familiar terms, for others the words may be new. What is also important is to know what is meant by each of these words.
Knowing who you are is important. As followers of Christ, we know we are sons and daughters of Christ, individually. Yet we live our faith communally as part of a parish. What is the identity of your parish. In the last 18 months, the parishes of the Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth have not only lived a new reality in light of a global pandemic but ALSO as new parishes.

Archbishop Dunn has invited the faithful to renew their devotion to Saint Joseph. The Holy Father designated this year a Year of Saint Joseph to encourage the faithful to learn more about the spouse of the Blessed Mother and foster father of Jesus.
